If you’re anything like me then you’d like the alternative side of fashion; dark, creepy, different, and weird. But some of us also like spring and we like the flowers and the bright colors so how do we combine the two when it comes to shoes?
It’s spring time again!
The first look is this black heel with floral patterns. It’s a unique transition from the lighter spring colors to a more edgy but definitely spring look.
From black floral to white, this pair of heels captures spring in all it’s glory but carefully and subtly adds that alternative charm. Literally! There is a skull charm hanging from the ankle strap!
Another white floral print, this pair of boots is what every alt girl needs for spring. With the right look and the spring colors this is guaranteed to turn some heads.
A pair of white peep-toed pumps isn’t what one might envision when it comes to spring, but this one is included because birds! Birds are symbolic with spring, but the thing about these birds is that they are ravens. The shoes on a whole gives off that spring feel so the whole theme to it fits in.
Another shoes that I like, this tattoo-inspired white pump brings out the true beauty of spring in a way that feels void and empty yet soul-searching. The emptiness of the shoe decorated with artistic roses speaks to the alternative girl who wants just a hint of spring.
I know this one is not as alternative as you may want but the nudes have to make it on this list and I chose this one. Spring encompasses a time of revival and a nude pair of heels represents what it means to be barren or dead. So for all the alternative girls out there, these heels are the thing to represent just that.
Pumps are a staple for spring and so is this pair. With the day-of-the-dead themed style, and a park teal color palette it is easy to why this might be an optimal choice or spring. It goes as dark as anyone would like but somehow still remains as festive as spring.
I know how hard it is to incorporate black shoes into spring. A Gothic look and spring just don’t mix. Kind of like oil and water. Bit for that Goth girl that loves the spring feel (come on I know there are some of you out there), deep down into the hollows of your dark soul somewhere you would just like one pair of shoes that match your soul and your love for spring. And I think this is the perfect pair for you.
Zombified Pink is what this pair of platform heels is to me every once in a while you’all find an alternative girl that digs both pink frills with ribbons and zombie apocalypse. That girl needs a pair of spring heels that combines both her love for video game horror and cute little kittens. This pair of heels does exactly that job.
Wedges. What’s spring without wedges? So what’s alternative spring without alternative wedges? A plain white pair of wedges decorated with hyper-realistic skulls is there perfect combo of dark and light all packed in a pair of wedges.
I found these DIY pair of Tim Burton canvas sneakers that I thought I could use to end the post. I know a lot of us are creative in some way so why not create art with our styles? A pair of white canvases and some acrylic paint is all you need. This person chose ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Tim Burton classic for this pair of sneakers. And I know Christmas has nothing to do with spring but why not?
