Designers to Know: Christian Siriano

As the current judge of Project Runway Junior, Christian Siriano has a lot to offer. Siriano is credited with being the youngest designer to win ‘Project Runway’, having entered the competition during its fourth season.

Siriano had an early star in the artistic and creative fields as he studied ballet as well as worked as a stylist’s assistant in a hair salon. Growing up, he was fascinated by theater and was very interested in theatrical wear and costumes from an early age. This love for theatrical productions sparked his interest in fashion.

Suriano studied at the American InterContinental University in London and did his internship at Vivienne Westwood, then later at Alexander McQueen, the latter of whom Siriano said he was inspired by.

Before auditioning for Project Runway, Siriano worked as a freelance makeup artist and often made wedding dresses for private clients.
