Look around you and you’re sure to find at least one video on organization tips for college, but none of them for fashion school. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of videos on YouTube that tell you how to improve your illustration skills, plenty of art supply hauls, and videos that tell you what to expect at FIT. What I am telling you now isn’t methods that I have particularly used at school, but rather at home while I was attending community college.
My method of illustrating is quite different from the regular aspiring designer in that I illustrate first my thoughts.
I am inspired by concepts, abstract thoughts, and emotions and I am so particular that I know exactly what I want. Every once in a while, I get inspired by a picture, by a person, or by a place. I use that and incorporate that into my illustrations and design. I also write a lot of short stories, novellas that I plan on publishing, and unfinished descriptions.
